Adult Handstands

Come see the world upside down! You do not need to be able to do a handstand in order to take this class, but for those who can we will make sure you get a work out that challenges you and helps you improve. After a warm up, we incorporate techniques from yoga and calisthenics to build flexibility and strength in key muscle groups. We will learn form and alignment through partner and individual drills, and of course spend a lot of time on our hands! All levels are welcome. 


Adult intro to lyra

Come learn how to fly in our aerial hoops! This class is built for absolute beginners to aerial and circus arts. Build solid foundations and technique to safely navigate your aerial journey. Class will concentrate on students gaining strength and understanding of their body up in the air. Come play!
No previous experience required!


Adult Lyra

Explore your range of motion in the quintessential circus apparatus. You’ll explore basic poses and fluid choreography, exciting drops and spins. This class does not require previous aerial experience, and we welcome folks with a little experience under their belt or none at all.

**Parents, note that you are welcome to bring small babies to class with you.

Adult Handstands, Tumbling, and Stretch

Rebecca's methodical approach to these foundational acrobatic skills will be a great refresher and workout for more experienced acrobats, yet still be accessible and fun for beginners! This class will explore the basics and development of acrobatic skills including handstands, tumbling and stretching. All levels welcome!

 

 

Adult Silks

Learn to climb, twirl, and wrap yourself up with grace and style. This class is open to the newest aerialists and those with a little more experience under their belt. You will learn climbs, poses, and basic sequencing as you develop your strength and stamina.

Each class includes a warm up where students learn safe body mechanics for aerial training, a skills/choreography section, and conditioning. You will learn the theory behind how manipulating the fabric creates movement pathways for tricks and choreography while also staying responsible to your body's functional health. It is recommended to wear clothes that cover your waist, backs of knees, and ankles.


Aerial Fabric for Adults

This class will incorporate the usage of aerial fabric as both silks and hammocks, providing variations of movement and body positioning. The intention of the class is to increase strength and stamina, provide a safe environment to learn and ultimately sequence skills together on both apparatuses.

**New mothers, please note that young babies are permitted to attend.

Baby Cirque (Ages 18 Months-4 years)

Develop coordination, strength, flexibility, discipline and FUN with this class designed to introduce your 18 month-4 year olds to the wonderful world of circus.

No experience required! This class will focus on exercises to get kids comfortable and learning basic skills on the ground and in the air. Open source, gender-neutral  class inspired by yoga, dance, circus, partnering, aerial, and other physical arts. Always taught in a safe, progressive, but free-flowing, adaptable manner.

Please arrive wearing tights and leotard or shirt, sweatpants, or other comfortable and easily moveable clothing.

Circus Fit

Work out like a circus star! This unique conditioning program designed by professional aerialists will not only tone your whole body, but will also give you fundamental circus skills you can take to the air. Transform your exercise regime and use your own body weight to lengthen, strengthen, find balance, and get buff while having fun!


Family Funhouse

Family Funhouse is a place where children (0-6 years) and their families can play and explore in our circus world. Interact with other little adventurers and parents alike. You bring the imagination and we’ll bring the mats, fabric, balls, blocks, crafts, costumes, and inventive gym mat obstacle courses. This time is by-donation.
**Please note that this session requires a parent or guardian to be on-site with their child. This is not a Muse-supervised session**


Family Acro

Acro for the whole family! Parents and children between the ages of 5-9 will learn how to work together, problem solve, deepen bonds, and gain strength and flexibility together in a safe, fun environment.


Family Juggling

Working on perfecting your seven ball cascade or have you never touched a juggling prop in your life? Either way, this class is right for you! Shane Miclon has been juggling and performing for over 20 years and has taught hundreds of people to toss and catch with confidence. Focus on proper form, solo juggling, and partner juggling for more advanced students!

This class is perfect for the whole family! Bring the kids and have some fun learning a new skill.

**Note: The age minimum for kids in this class is 7 years old.


German Wheel For kids (Ages 6-10)

The German Wheel is a giant hamster wheel for humans. Take a spin with us -- in no time you will be flipping, rolling, and standing on top of the wheel world!

This class is for kids ages 6-10 years old.

Please note that indoor shoes are required for this class. Thin, hard soled, canvas-top shoes are ideal.
Shoe brand recommendations are Converse and Feiyue. These can be purchased online.


Kids' Gymnastic Arts - Ages 5-7, Ages 8-12, & Ages 13-17

Open source, gender-neutral gymnastics class inspired by yoga, dance, circus, partnering, aerial, and other physical arts. Always taught in a safe, progressive, but free-flowing, adaptable manner.


Kids' Lyra (Ages 5-7) & Kids' Lyra (Ages 8-12)

Class will begin with an energetic warm-up focused on stamina, conditioning & stretching.
Students will learn standard lyra technique & choreography in a safe, fun environment. Once a foundational strength & knowledge have been established, more difficult choreography will be incorporated.

No experience necessary, but a love of ‘hanging upside down’ is a huge plus!


Kids' Silks (Ages 5-7) & Kids' Silks (Ages 8-12)

Aerial Silks for children. No experience required! This class will focus on exercises to get kids comfortable in the air. It will teach them basic skills, coordination and strength to fly!

GROUND CIRCUS SAMPLER (AGES 8-12)

Kids will learn juggling, acrobatics, and partner acro basics in this great combo class! 

TINY TUMBLERS (AGES 3-4)

Introduction to tumbling for your littlest ones! Have a youngster with a love for all things running, jumping, somersaulting, upside-downing? Spend an hour at The Muse Gowanus, and watch the soar through the basics of tumbling!


Kids' Trapeze/Lyra (Ages 5-7)

Aerial Lyra (Hoop) and Trapeze for children ages 5-7. No experience required! This class will focus on exercises to get kids comfortable in the air. It will teach them basic skills, coordination and strength to fly on these two apparatuses!


Teen Silks (Ages 13-17)
